Macedonia hosting Iranian Film Week

The Republic of North Macedonia is hosting an Iranian Film Week from Tuesday.

The Republic of North Macedonia has been hosting an Iranian Film Week since Tuesday, February 19.

The program is underway marking the occasion of the 40th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

To be continued until February 23, it has so far been welcomed by the Macedonian cinema enthusiasts.

The event is being set to screen six Iranian feature movies in Skopje, the capital city of North Macedonia.

Iranian Ambassador to Macedonia Hossein Karimi attended opening of the event and addressed the audiences on the human and moral achievements of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

“Iran's Islamic Revolution emphasizes human and moral issues more than anything else; and that’s why our country has a long track record in art, particularly cinema,” Karimi said.

He also noted that, producing more than 100 films annually, Iran is currently among the top five countries in the cinema industry.

The lineup of Iranian titles at the event include ‘The Children of Heaven’ by Majid Majidi, ‘Café Transit’ by Kambozia Partovi, ‘Where is the Friend’s Home?’ by Abbas Kiarostami, ‘Where Are My Shoes?’ by Kioumars Pourahmad, ‘Don’t Be Embarrassed’ by Reza Maqsoudi, and ‘Don’t Get Tired!’ by Seyyed-Mohammadreza Alipayam.
